What is CSA Check?
CSA Check is an independent carrier-safety research platform that organizes public FMCSA records and adds clearly labeled, independently derived analytics.
Is CSA Check part of FMCSA?
No. CSA Check is not affiliated with or endorsed by FMCSA or the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Are CSA Check peer percentiles official CSA or SMS percentiles?
No. They are independent comparisons calculated by CSA Check from an eligible national peer population. They are not official FMCSA percentiles, safety ratings, or intervention determinations.
Where does the data come from?
Carrier identity, inspection, violation, and crash-file records come from public FMCSA datasets. CSA Check labels independently derived measures and peer comparisons separately from those source records.
Why is a BASIC result unavailable?
A carrier may not meet a BASIC-specific recent-event, exposure, safety-event-group, segment, or data-availability requirement. The workspace reports the applicable reason instead of manufacturing a value.
Does a crash record mean the carrier was at fault?
No. A public crash-file record does not by itself establish fault or preventability.
How current is the data?
CSA Check displays source and refresh context where available. Public publication schedules and downstream refreshes can create lag, and source agencies may revise earlier records.
How can I find a carrier?
Search by USDOT number or carrier name. Selecting a result opens the carrier workspace with the available profile and safety record.
