Source foundation
Carrier profiles, inspections, violations, and crash records originate from public FMCSA datasets. Source identifiers and update context are retained where available so displayed records can be audited.
CSA Check preserves the distinction between public FMCSA records and the independent calculations used to organize and compare them.

The current implementation represents FMCSA SMS Methodology v3.21 rules for supported BASICs, including applicable severity, time weighting, exposure, and recent-event requirements. Unsupported or insufficient inputs remain unavailable instead of being estimated.
CSA Check peer percentiles compare an eligible measure with a nationwide persisted population for the same BASIC, safety-event group, and required Combination or Straight fleet segment. Lower measures rank better; equal canonical measures share a competition rank.
An independent peer percentile is not an official FMCSA SMS percentile, intervention threshold, safety rating, or fitness determination. The product labels it as a CSA Check analytic wherever it appears.
Crash records are presented as reported public events. Their appearance does not imply fault, preventability, or a determination under the Crash Preventability Determination Program.
Public records may be revised, delayed, incomplete, or unavailable for a given period. Measurement history keeps missing observations visible, and eligibility explanations identify when the platform cannot responsibly calculate a result.
